„Echoes of Existence” Odjeci postojanja
Teodora Barbić’s first solo exhibition, Echoes of Existence, marked her official entry onto the professional art scene of Montenegro. Held in the foyer of the Centre for Culture Tivat, it drew significant attention from the public, cultural institutions and media.
The exhibition consisted of around twenty works in acrylic on canvas and pencil drawing, conceptually divided into two cycles.
Echoes of Souls — a series of hyperrealist close-up portraits through which the artist explores emotion, psychological state and the individual story of each subject. The focus on expression, gaze and subtleties of light gives the portraits a powerful emotional presence.
The second cycle, Echoes of Eternity, is built on landscape motifs and an exploration of the relationship between the human being and space, transience and a universal sense of connection.
Opening the exhibition, art theorist Nina Milićević highlighted Teodora’s „serious, authentic and sincere artistic approach” — singling out an unusual maturity in composition, aesthetics and proportion, and her sensitivity to hyperrealist depiction, light refraction and shadow, describing her talent as an expression of artistic maturity beyond her years.
The artist herself describes this exhibition as an introspective journey through emotion, growth and inner states — noting that her paintings „are not only looked at, but listened to like music or silence”, each carrying its own rhythm and story.
